10 WWE Wrestlers Who Had Their Momentum Repeatedly Halted By Major Injuries

6. Triple H

In Triple H's case, it's less about the frequency of his injuries and more about their timing and severity.

The Game's first major injury forced him to drop his newly-won Intercontinental Championship in the summer of 1998. After returning to action in January of 1999, Triple H enjoyed a two-year run as the best heel in professional wrestling, winning multiple WWF Championships along the way.

Unfortunately, the King of Kings nearly lost his throne before his time.

During a May 2001 episode of Monday Night Raw, Triple H suffered a career-threatening injury, as a freak accident caused his quadriceps muscle to completely detach from his kneecap. Thankfully, he'd only be out nine months, but he'd miss the entire Invasion storyline as a result.

He'd reclaim his place as wrestling's most detested bad guy from 2002 until July of 2005, when minor neck issues forced him to take four months off. He'd slowly transition into a babyface role, eventually reforming D-Generation X with Shawn Michaels in June of 2006. Unfortunately, this run didn't last long, as he'd tear the quadriceps in his other leg at New Year's Revolution 2007. This time, he'd only miss about eight months' time.

He did suffer other major injuries in recent years, but it didn't slow any of his momentum, as he's largely been used to put other people over for the last decade. But those injuries mentioned above could've ended a lesser man's career.
