10 WWE Wrestlers Who Have Been Directionless During The Brand Split
4. The Vaudevillians
It was actually somewhat a surprise when The Vaudevillians were brought up from NXT after WrestleMania 32. Both men had been a part of the developmental system for a few years, so it wasn't that they weren't ready for WWE's main stage, but it was always widely assumed by fans that the act just wouldn't work outside of Full Sail University.
The only time Aiden English and Simon Gotch were on the verge of superstardom was when they captured the NXT Tag Team Championship at TakeOver: Brooklyn in August 2015. Beyond that, they have never been able to maintain momentum, though they did a decent job of eliciting heat as heels when they initially arrived in WWE.
The Vaudevillians came close to winning the WWE Tag Team Championship at Extreme Rules but were ultimately unsuccessful. They were never the same following the defeat and have become just another tandem on SmackDown Live, losing every match they have had so far.
There might be hope for them yet if they are repackaged and are made out to be legitimate threats to the twin titles, but they have only been worse off since the Brand Split as of now.
