10 WWE Wrestlers Who Should’ve Got One More Title Run
1. Sting
What? WWE World Heavyweight Championship
When? 2015
Why? Having avoided WWE his entire career, Sting finally signed on the dotted line in 2014 at 55 years of age. Don’t let the number fool you though, because the former WCW stalwart had barely missed a step.
Initially feuding with Triple H, Sting proved at WrestleMania 31 that he very much still had it, before going above and beyond at Night of Champions in a WWE title bout with Seth Rollins.
Of course, a neck injury sustained in the latter of those matches would ultimately force him to hang up his boots, meaning that the only man to have held the NWA, WCW and TNA World Championships bowed out without adding the WWE title to that list.
Whether it was at ‘Mania 31, during the build-up to Night of Champions or at that September PPV itself, one last world title run would’ve cemented Sting’s legacy and given him an idyllic sign-off. And just in like so many of these instances, he could still have gone on to drop the title back to Rollins to ensure the new guy went over in the end.
