10 WWE Wrestlers Who Should’ve Got One More Title Run

7. Goldust

What? Intercontinental Championship

When? Mid-2014

Why? At the 2013 Royal Rumble, Goldust made one of his many returns to WWE, except this time he looked better than ever. A combination of sobriety and DDP Yoga had seen him get into the shape of his life at 44 years of age, and though the Rumble appearance was just a cameo, the comeback became a full-time one nine months later in September.

Teaming with his real-life brother Cody Rhodes, an awesome angle saw the pair get one up on the Authority and save their jobs in the process, before the duo won the Tag Team Championship on the 14 October showing of Raw.

Though the pairing ultimately ran its course, the run had rejuvenated Goldust’s career to the point that one last Intercontinental title reign – some 18 years after he first held the belt – wasn’t out of the question.

Instead, the summer of 2014 saw the mid-card belt flip-flop back-and-forth between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler, while Goldust gradually slipped down the ranks as the momentum he’d gathered was lost.
