5. The Frog Splash
Speaking of Eddie Guerrero, everyone knows him for using his jackknife frog splash but did he actually invent the move? The answer, of course, is no. Eddie actually used the move in a tribute to Art Barr, who used the move when they teamed as Los Gringos Locos in AAA. It was 2 Cold Scorpio who coined the term 'Frog Splash' because Barr actually looked like a frog when performing the move. But where did Barr get the move from? Wrestlers had been using flying splashes for years but where exactly did he get the technique of the frog plash from? By all accounts, it was from Guerrero who performed the move a couple of times before Barr took it for himself. So where then, did Guerrero get the frog splash from? It should come as little surprise that it was learned in Mexico, specifically from a talented and incredibly underrated wrestler called La Fiera. He was using the move as far back as the mid-1980s. The move has been used by a lot of wrestlers over the years, most notably Rob Van Dam whose Five Star Frog Splash Eddie called the 'prettiest I have ever seen'. But they owe it all to a little-known luchadore who never hit it big. Check out the original in the video below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bBO9hyahVSg
