4. Roman Reigns
Reigns’ tenure with WWE has been up and down, and his recent return has been a welcome one. He’s an undeniably skilled performer with a real aura, and most fans will agree it’s great to have him back.
In the bad old days, though, crowd responses to The Big Dog were something to behold. Royal Rumble 2015 is an utter car crash, well worth a watch for that reason alone. When Daniel Bryan is dumped out at the midpoint, the crowd starts to boo, and they don’t let up for the rest of the night as it becomes more obvious that Reigns, the heir apparent, is the designated winner.
Wrestlemania 32’s main event is similarly fascinating, with Triple H and Reigns locking horns in a ponderous match that no one enjoys. The clearly piped in cheers when Reigns lifts the belt cap off the disaster that was his first big push.
Reigns has come a long way and it’s certainly not his fault that the crowd rejected him at first. With better booking, he could be exactly what WWE wants him to be. Or, they could repeat exactly the same mistakes again and infuriate everyone. Either seems a good shout!
