10 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Better In The Indies
7. John Morrison
John Morrison departed WWE at the tail-end of 2011, having reportedly grown frustrated with the creative direction of his character. Despite wearing various guises over the course of a near 10-year association with the company (first appearing on our screens as Eric Bischoff's clipboard-carrying personal assistant), he pretty much always seemed destined for a career in the mid-card.
But his career since then has been anything but predictable. Instead of hot-footing it to TNA or Ring of Honor, the former ECW Champion instead headed to Mexico's Lucha Underground, repackaged as Johnny Mundo, where he has been one of the show's most popular performers ever since. Morrison's WWE run was not without its moments, but it's obvious that his best work has come since going freelance.
