10 WWE Wrestlers Who Were Better In The Indies

5. Seth Rollins

El Generico At Chikara 2013

A face turn earlier this year was supposed to breathe some life into Seth Rollins' character after cuddling up with The Authority for the better part of two years. And yet it still feels like there's something missing from the arsenal of the two-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who - on paper - has all the tools needed to be the company's leading man for the next decade.

In Ring of Honor, Rollins, then known as Tyler Black, seemed to have an extra gear both inside the squared circle and out. Part of that owed to the fact that he was extraordinarily precocious, having won the ROH world title aged just 23. Part of it, though, was that he wasn't being strangled by the WWE leash, and one hopes that he is afforded a little more freedom as he grows into the role of elder statesman.
