Yes, The Hardy Boyz made a lot more money in WWE, and were far more popular, but speaking from a pure character standpoint, Matt Hardy has done his best work on a national scene in TNA. It wasn’t always that way, as when he initially joined the company, he did the absolute worst work of his career right after his WWE release. Thankfully, the man has cleaned up, and been mixing-up his character in interesting ways ever since.

As a singles act, Vince McMahon never seemed to have high hopes for Matt. He was given one big chance in 2005 after the whole Edge/Matt/Lita love triangle went down, but Matt’s return promo after being released and subsequently rehired left a lot to be desired. After that, he was pretty much doomed from ever becoming a main-eventer in the WWE.

Hardy returned to TNA in 2014 after a great run in ROH, and soon captured the World Title. But it was his heel turn as Big Money Matt in 2016 that brought his work to another level. Along with his wife Reby, his bodyguard Tyrus, and his son Maxel, the group was the most entertaining part of the show, and Matt finally proved that being a main-eventer wasn’t out of his reach.

However, if the Broken Matt storyline continues for much longer, he may find himself off this list entirely!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
