5. Apollo Crews

After spending the majority of his time on Raw and SmackDown grinning and/or looking completely lost since debuting on the main roster back in 2016, something finally clicked for Apollo Crews at the start of this year.

Donning a heel gimmick which consisted of him confessing to be Nigerian royalty, boasting a shiny new accent, white and green scarf, and formidable spear, Apollo has taken aim at Intercontinental Champion Big E during this time and is scheduled to come to blows with his bitter rival at WrestleMania 37.

Since bringing this compelling character to the table, a role that riffs on his own Nigerian heritage, Apollo has radiated star power and this new-found confidence in his personality has further complemented his already stunning in-ring performances.

A run with the blue brand's mid-card title seems to be pretty much inevitable at this point. But looking past that, should Apollo keep upping his game over the course of 2021, perhaps a main event programme opposite a top face like Daniel Bryan or even a war with SmackDown's Tribal Chief could be in the offing this year.
