It is difficult to imagine Sami Zayn being anything less than a top draw performer, no matter where he is wrestling. Zayn is a breakthrough mega star waiting to explode. WWE may be somewhat reluctant to give him the ball, but when they do, 'The Underdog from the Underground' will be more then capable of running with it.

As such, saying that Sami Zayn would fit right in in NJPW is a bit like saying the sun rises and the sun sets. Of course he would. The bigger question isn't whether he would be a success in Japan - in which division would that success come? Junior heavyweight wrestling is a different beast in Japan, and competing against KUSHIDA, Ricochet, Will Ospreay, and the rest would be no shame for Zayn.

There are a lot of thrilling matches waiting for Sami Zayn over in Japan. Wrestling fans worldwide would be swift to salivate at the idea of Zayn vs. Hiromu Takahashi, Tomohiro Ishii and the rest. It is unlikely - but one can dream.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
