10 WWE Wrestlers Who Would Be Right At Home In NJPW

Boo! Hiss! Roman sucks! Yadda yadda yadda. You can pick holes all day long in the booking of Roman Reigns and the presentation of Reigns as a character, but it does feel as though most of the criticism of his actual wrestling comes from a position of pre-determined bias. Reigns has been one of WWE's most consistent wrestlers over the last few years - whether fans like that or not is irrelevant.

Reigns wrestled a highly physical style, and one of the things he truly excels at is taking a beating. NJPW delivers a far more physical style of wrestling than WWE, and Reigns would clearly be at home in the big match fight environment. Reigns has pulled good matches out of Braun Strowman, Big Show, and others during his singles run in WWE - and when paired with an elite talent his matches are special.

The 'Big Dog' would also find his booking paired back somewhat in New Japan, meanings fans would almost certainly be forced to judge him on wrestling alone. A hard-hitting Reigns in New Japan would fit like a glove.

It is easy to imagine Reigns doing battle with bulls like Hirooki Goto and EVIL, or finding ways to deal with the sadistic violence of Minoru Suzuki and the wrestling genius that is Tetsuya Naito.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
