2. John Cena

Much of the criticism directed at Roman Reigns was thrown the way of John Cena in the second half of the '00s, and with good reason - John Cena the character was the worst. He always won. His wrestling was robotic and predictable, and his comebacks caused fans around the world to make questionable hand gestures whilst rolling their eyes.

With time, John Cena has become one of WWE's safest bets inside the ring. His all time classics with CM Punk, Edge, Shawn Michaels, Daniel Bryan, AJ Styles, and more must have put a lot of complaints to bed. Fans never had any real right to chant "you can't wrestle" at Cena. Now, such claims are embarrassing.

His ability is no longer surprising, but Big Match John would surely go on to catch many people in New Japan off guard. His pedigree speaks for itself. Cena brings a big match atmosphere to pretty much all of his contests, and such auras can take an individual a long way in Japan.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
