10 WWE Wrestlers Whose Theme Songs Were The Best Thing About Them
2. The Nexus
In the long history of Raw, one of the show's most fondly-remembered moments is the debut of The Nexus. When John Cena was wrestling CM Punk in the show's main event, the entire cast of season one of NXT - led by winner Wade Barrett - crashed the ring. They beat up both men, the announcers, the cameramen, and the ring crew, then tore the ring itself apart.
That was pretty much the high point for the group. Daniel Bryan - the only member who had any ability at that point in time - was immediately fired from WWE (don't worry, he came back), and the repeated beatdowns soon grew stale. When The Nexus members started wrestling, they were exposed as not ready for the spotlight.
The first nail in the coffin came at SummerSlam 2010, when a WWE all-star team defeated The Nexus in an elimination match. After that, Wade Barrett lost back to back feuds with Randy Orton and John Cena. Finally, the group was split in two, with Barrett's faction taking the misspelled name "The Corre."
The Nexus is considered one of the greatest missed opportunities in WWE history, but there was one thing the group didn't miss - having great theme music. The stable used "We Are One" by 12 Stones, a surprisingly decent rock song with a military march vibe and a message of unity. It's almost a shame WWE wasted the song early and couldn't use it for The Shield.
