10 Young WWE Stars With WrestleMania Main Event Potential

5. Dominik Mysterio

This is a tricky one.

On one hand, Dominik Mysterio is the son of perhaps the greatest luchador of all time in Rey Mysterio. He also debuted at a big four pay-per-view against Seth Rollins at Summerslam 2020. Hence, there must be at the very least significant potential for him to become World Champion and main-event WrestleMania one day. However, on the other hand, the son of the mask is just a bit bland.

His namesake was always going to hotshot him into the limelight, probably before he was ready, but Dominik is working hard to make a name for himself. He is performing adequately on the main roster, but it's easy to see why any aura around him has cooled since his big debut during the pandemic.

Mysterio desperately needs the rumoured father vs. son feud to get kickstarted, and he absolutely must go over in the impeding rivalry. Dominik needs a rocket to hit his presentation, and a heel turn would do wonders. He would benefit from the opportunity to turn against his father and showcase more personality, because as of right now, nothing really sets him apart other than being Rey Mysterio’s son.

With that said, being the son of the mask will take him places in the company, possibly as high as becoming the next huge Latin wrestling star, but fans need more to sink their teeth into.

Otherwise, Dominik is doomed to fail to live up to his father’s huge legacy.
