100 Greatest WWE Matches Of All Time (Ranked)

The value of good storytelling feeding into a blistering bell-to-bell match should never be overlooked. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn have split up then mended fences more times than anyone could care to count, but there's a realism to their 'on again/off again' friendship that's both intoxicating and timeless. Together, the pair worked arguably their best bout yet at Elimination Chamber 2025.

Toronto natives basked in the atmosphere pre-bout and treated both guys like Canadian heroes who'd make Bret Hart blush. Going in, KO had been incensed that Sami wouldn't help him dethrone then-WWE Champ Cody Rhodes at Royal Rumble. This was all part of Kev's lauded heel turn that saw him spike piledrive everyone from Randy Orton to Cody and (eventually) Zayn.

Come match time, these real-life pals were keen to tear into one another and better old wars in ROH, NXT and on WWE's main roster. There's a reason why the Chamber one gets the nod on this collection - it was thumping from the off, and there was a sickly satisfying air to the "Unsanctioned" gimmick WWE slapped on it too.

Sometimes, that falls flat and sounds a bit silly, but KO and Sami made it work up north.

Orton's timely comeback to stop Owens from dishing out further damage and potentially ending Zayn's career also worked a treat and elevated the entire segment. Viewed in isolation, this was one of the best matches on WWE PPV/PLE ever. Viewed with knowledge of the duo's rich history, it became something even better.
