100 Greatest WWE Matches Of All Time (Ranked)

37. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks (WrestleMania 37)

WrestleMania 37's night one main event wasn't the first time women had main evented the biggest weekend of the year, but it remains the finest female headliner on the 'Show Of Shows' to date. Both Sasha Banks and the emerging Bianca Belair had pressure on their shoulders too though. WWE's build up hadn't been great - the pair were cast as unlikely partners, which felt forced, and that did nothing to sell the intensity of their match.

Like top performers do, Sasha and Bianca managed to overcome all of that to produce a bout worthy of top billing. Not even Michael Cole's botched commentary call at the finish could spoil it! Besides, the way Banks used Belair's own hair braid to her advantage throughout the bout was killer, and it's a reminder of just how good Sasha could be on her day during that WWE run.

The 'Legit Boss' used the braid during a submission hold to add further torque, but then got her comeuppance towards the end when Belair whipped her with it. That played before a satisfying crack sound, and a lot of 'ooh'ing' and 'aah'ing' from the live crowd. That's something worth mentioning too: 'Mania 37 had limited numbers back there live, which was welcome after 36's weird (albeit unavoidable) silence.

Those lucky few basked in a terrific showdown between women who managed to survive wonky build. Going with the 'EST' as winner was a shrewd decision too, because she was the rising star at the time and needed the victory more than Sasha.
