100 Greatest WWE Royal Rumble Moments Ever
11. Chyna Makes History (1999)
Iconic ring announcer Howard Finkel was very specific when calling the Royal Rumble "every man for himself" before most matches. In 1999, Chyna changed the game by becoming the first woman to ever enter the famous brawl. She was #30, and got to dump Mark Henry over the top before being eliminated herself by Steve Austin.
The Ninth Wonder of the World made quite the impression in just 35 short seconds.
Being honest, the main meat of the '99 Rumble centred around Austin and Mr. McMahon's battle of wills. Almost everyone else involved was a secondary concern... except Chyna. She did way more with her 35 seconds than guys like Big Boss Man managed in 18 minutes, or others like Edge, Triple H, and even the late, great Owen Hart.
Female stars like Beth Phoenix and Kharma would follow in Chyna's footsteps eventually, but she was the first. In fact, this was one of the first bold steps towards an all-women's Rumble debuting almost 20 years later. Chyna was a true revolutionary. What a groundbreaking moment.
