Nobody knew in 2001 that WrestleMania X-Seven would be Chyna's last. The 'Ninth Wonder Of The World' appeared to have countless supercards ahead of her, but backstage strife led to her departure from the then-WWF later that same year. That's why Chyna's win over Ivory at X-Seven is here. Being honest, it wasn't a match the tragic revolutionary even wanted.

Jim Ross has been very upfront and honest when recapping Chyna's thoughts on the women's division via his podcast. According to JR, she believed she was above working with other women, which is presumably why the 'Mania match was a routine one sided squash and Women's Title win for Chyna. She viewed all of this as a noticeable step down from being in DX, winning Intercontinental Titles or taking stunners from Steve Austin.

Fair enough, and yet history is history. It's important to put 'Mania X-Seven's title win into context, sure, but it was an important night to her overall story. A top 10 (or even 50) WrestleMania memory? No, hardly. A bid from the WWF to legitimise the women's division by installing somebody they'd almost certainly push? Yes, let's go with that. Sadly, Chyna didn't see things that way - she treated the moment like a curse not a blessing.

That puts an altogether sour stamp on proceedings, but Chyna's first Women's Title triumph should still be honoured by fans. The fact it'd be her last hurrah on the WWF/WWE's biggest annual showcase only further adds to the poignancy of everything.

Side note: Serious credit must go to Ivory for being a total pro and recognising the spot she was in. She did the honours with dignity.
