Controversy and scandal have never been too far away from WWE's product. Two cases stand out in 2015, Hulk Hogan's racist rant, and Paige mentioning Charlotte's dead brother in storylines. Hogan was fired by WWE in July, after racist slurs were revealed from an old sex tape. Given that it was recorded without his knowledge, some felt Hogan had been hard done by. In the aftermath, he was adamant he wasn't racist. The Paige controversy was different. This was a case of WWE giving her a script which made light out of a real tragedy. She suggested to Charlotte that her dead brother had no fight in him, in perhaps WWE's most tasteless angle of the year. Ric Flair and Charlotte's family were unaware of the angle, and were very upset upon viewing it. Given the mainstream nature of Hogan's controversy, he wins this award, but the Paige thing was definitely the most tasteless booking decision of the year. Winner: Hulk Hogan
