11 Big Talking Points From WrestleMania 31

3. Best WrestleMania Ever?

The big debate raging on wrestling forums right now is how this Mania stacks up as WWE's greatest show. The esteemed verdict of Wrestling Observer Newsletter supremo Dave Meltzer is that it was one of the best wrestling shows he has ever seen. He put it in the same bracket as WrestleMania 17 and was high in his praise for WWE's efforts. But was it really that good of a show? Did it even beat last year's WrestleMania 30, which had a superb match with Daniel Bryan vs Triple H and one of the best storybook endings ever to the show? Indeed, if you look at this year's card, it is consistent in quality matches, but none of them really hit elite level standards. You could argue the main event did, but then it was hardly as good as Lesnar's match against Rollins and Cena at the Royal Rumble this year. It was a great match, but it wasn't the match of the year. Maybe when all of the buzz settles, this Mania will be revised from being the best Mania ever to being remembered as just a really great WrestleMania.
