At Survivor Series 2015, Miz opened up the show in a dark match tagging up with The Cosmic Wasteland and Bo Dallas. He wasn’t even booked for the following pay-per-view at TLC. He was an afterthought in the company, and seemed like a guy who would appear on most shows, but never had much going for him.

Within the past year, he’s turned into one of the most compelling wrestlers on the roster. While his push has cooled down a bit as of late, he’s proved that he’s vastly underutilized. It seems that it was the re-pairing of him and his wife Maryse the night after WrestleMania 32 that helped him catch on once again.

His run with the Intercontinental Title helped bring some prestige back to the belt, and he cut one of the most talked about promos of the year with his verbal assault on Daniel Bryan on an episode of Talking Smack. Will he be brought back up to the main event by Survivor Series 2017? Or will he continue to lose momentum as he has over the past few months? Hopefully it’s the former, as few wrestlers have done such an effective job at becoming relevant again as The Miz has over these past few months.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
