7. The Cruiserweights Have Returned

WWE had made a lot of hiring decisions over the past year, as none of the Cruiserweight competitors (besides Kalisto and Sin Cara) even had a job in WWE at Survivor Series 2015. Brian Kendrick made his return to the company this year, and over a dozen new faces have joined him.

However, most fans would agree that the Cruiserweights really aren’t that exciting at the moment. T.J. Perkins run as the first champ didn’t go so well, and the character development for most of the wrestlers has been badly lacking. Still, it is cool (though frustrating) to see their return. The CWC wasn’t even announced a year ago, as it just sprang up out of nowhere, and quickly lead to an influx of new talent on Raw after the brand split.

A year from now it will be interesting to see what other big changes like that we’ll be seeing. An all women’s Tournamen, is scheduled for early 2017 in NXT, which will likely bring in many more competitors to the company. There’s still a lot of work to be done with the Cruiserweights, but having them back at all is a step in the right direction.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
