4. Too Much WrestleMania Focus
Rather than "Fastlane" being pushed on its own merits, WWE are instead selling it as a WrestleMania warm-up. The April 3 show has actually been pushed far more than the February 21 event. The mistake will play out in even bigger fashion at Fastlane, when the results of the matches are pushed for their WrestleMania implications rather than their own merits. This will be especially true in the main event. Rather than letting three great wrestlers do battle, it will likely be angle heavy with 'Mania in mind. The foreshadowing for Bray Wyatt costing Brock Lesnar is already in play, and that interference really could ruin the match this sunday. Remember when Taker interfered in Lesnar versus Seth Rollins last last year? The Fastlane main event is very much the same; it is less about a great contest and more about establishing the next show. It's a clear mistake, as the key to WWE Network subscription consistency is making every show count.
