11 Fantasy WWE Tag Matches We'd Love To Have Seen

7. Demolition Vs The Dudley Boyz

Participants: Ax, Smash and Crush Vs Bubba Ray Dudley, D-Von Dudley and Spike Dudley. Demolition were one of the most successful tag teams of the 1980s. They were three-time Tag Team Champions and still hold the records for both the single longest tag title reign and the most combined days as reigning champions. With Ax and Smash as the two original members, they were later joined by Crush, as Ax began to take on more of a manager role, and would utilise "the Freebird rule" - a rule that was founded due to an earlier entry on this list, the Fabulous Freebirds - which allowed any two members of a three member tag team to wrestle in two-on-two matches, including title matches. They were modelled somewhat on the legendary Road Warriors and were almost as brutal and powerful as Hawk and Animal themselves. The Dudley Boyz would be an ideal opponent for them. Representing a different era, but being just as competitive in an arguably tougher tag division in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley were the two main members, but they also had a third member like Demolition did - in this case, "the runt of the Dudley litter", Spike. The Dudley Boyz feuded with the likes of Edge and Christian and the Hardy Boyz and won one WWE Tag Team Championship, no less than eight World Tag Team Championships and one WCW World Tag Team Championship. They specialised in table matches, with Bubba Ray's cry of "D-VON, GET THE TABLE" becoming quite iconic. This would be a titanic match of two legendary - and very different - teams. But there can only be one winner. Winners: Demolition. With a table stipulation, the Dudley Boyz would have a shot (in the fact the tables would definitely turn - pun intended) but, in a straight up tag match, Demolition are too much for them and the weak link in the form of the 5' 9" and 150lb Spike Dudley could be the downfall of the Dudley Boyz.
