To this day, Curt and Joe Hennig are still the only father and son duo to win the Intercontinental Championship. Father Curt won it in 1990 as Mr. Perfect, defeating Tito Santana in the final of a tournament after the title was vacated by the Ultimate Warrior. Perfect dropped the title to The Texas Tornado at SummerSlam that year but would soon win it back, before losing it once more to Bret Hart.

Joe Hennig had a less smooth ride to the IC title, starting off on WWE TV as Michael McGillicutty on NXT. He was eventually re-introduced as Curtis Axel, the newest Heyman Guy, and would win the Intercontinental Championship soon after. Axel also won the title on Father's Day, a fairly poignant time to do so.

Curtis has three sons, one of whom is wonderfully named Hoss Hennig. If Hoss Hennig doesn't become a professional wrestler at some point something has gone horrible wrong.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
