11 Female Wrestlers Who Were In WWE At The Wrong Time
7. Beth Phoenix
The Glamazon Beth Phoenix will go down in history as one of the most intimidating, powerful, yet beautiful women in WWE. The Hall of Famer is a three-time Women's Champion and held the Divas title once. When she first debuted in WWE, she was thrown into a major storyline involving Mickie James and Trish Stratus.
Apparently, in the story, Beth knew Mickie prior to joining WWE. Trish, who was feuding with Mickie at the time, knew this and brought Beth in to settle the score with Mickie. Unfortunately, the story was cut short due to an injury that Beth sustained in a match against the equally powerful Victoria, and we never found out how Beth and Mickie really knew each other.
When Beth returned, she joined forces with the likes of Melina and Jillian Hall, until she finally won the Women's Championship, and later, the Divas title. While Beth had the opportunity to put on amazing matches, such as the I Quit Match with Melina, as well as a series of quietly impressive matches with Mickie James, this was all during a time when there wasn't enough investment in the women's division from WWE management and creative. Storylines were normally brief, and matches rarely extended past five minutes.
Beth will always be one of the greats. She even became the second woman to enter the men's Royal Rumble Match. However, one can argue that she would have made a much bigger impact in today's world of women's wrestling. Today, you can hear her as one of the voices of NXT.
