11 Head-Scratchingly Long WWE Royal Rumble Performances

10. Thrasher - 28:08 (1998)

The 1998 Royal Rumble was hardly a classic, and is perhaps most fondly remembered for the fact that Mick Foley entered the match three times under the guises of his three different personas - Cactus Jack, Mankind and Dude Love. The match was also defined, however, by the sheer number of participants who lasted for longer than twenty five minutes or longer before being eliminated. Some of these long runs were justified either at the time or have since been justified over time as the performer in question has ascended into the upper echelons of the company, such as was the case with The Rock (51 minutes) and Blackjack Bradshaw's (later JBL - 35 minutes). Others who passed the 25 minute mark were members of solid-yet-unspectacular tag teams, who are usually used in the Rumble match solely to make up the numbers. One was Thrasher (far right of the above picture), a member of the Headbangers along with Mosh, who himself lasted for 13 minutes. Entering at #15, Thrasher's 28 minutes were as uneventful as they were unjustified, given that he took part in no eliminations and was eventually dumped out of the match to give eventual winner Stone Cold Steve Austin another effortless elimination to his name.
