11 Hidden Meanings Behind WWE WrestleMania 38 Attires
2. Edge Brings Back The Brood
Someone start a, "Brood! Brood! Brood!" chant like it's 1998. What's that? Nobody actually chanted that in the late-90s? Well, the wrestling fanbase can make up for that in 2022. WWE likely want to discourage any and all support for Edge now he's a newly-turned heel though.
That's going to be challenging when his revamped Brood look is so badass.
AJ Styles walked to the ring in some clean white gear that clashed mightily with the blacks and dark purples Edge was sporting. The latter's entrance, which saw the 'Rated-R Superstar' seated on a throne circled by fire, was a clear reference to old Brood leader Gangrel. The vampire-inspired gear was very Underworld or Blade too.
Edge might've thought that his emotional return story had run its course. Perhaps he needed to dip into an old bag of tricks and play the vamp card again. The fire, his sinister smile, the demonic imagery and dark lighting - yep, this was 100% Gangrel goodness.
