2. Darby Allin vs. CM Punk

CM Punk is definitely winning this. He should, but the discourse is going to be horrendous.

Bad faith actors will crawl out of the woodwork as soon as the referee's hand hits the mat for the third time. Cries of "the old guy buried the talented young guy!" will rally an army of trolls hidden behind faceless avatars, who'll bark "if WWE did it..." and an unending stream of crylaugh emojis when challenged.

Disregard these opinions. They don't matter, because there's no way Punk should be losing his first match in over seven years.

Building new stars requires preserving the existing stars so that when the younger wrestler eventually overcomes them, the rub actually means something. Yes, beating Punk would look nice on Darby's resume, but it's too much, too soon. He'll likely pin him somebody, but it should come after at least one failed attempt, a la the Cody Rhodes feud that pushed him towards the top in the first place. This isn't the time or place for a scalp like Punk's yet.

Punk will win, the atmosphere will be spectacular, and those who don't understand why will be left screaming into the void.

Winner: CM Punk
