Eddie Kingston vs. CM Punk is proof of concept when it comes to AEW's approach on utilising their wrestlers' past in feuds and storylines. If the company hadn't leaned on their locker-rooms these guys would have shared years ago, and the stories that emerged from them, there wouldn't be nearly as much value to the match, which feels like one of the hottest things on the card despite the two-week build.
