3. World Title Eliminator: Miro vs. Bryan Danielson

Miro Bryan Danielson
AEW

Best wishes to Jon Moxley, who has a long, hard road ahead of him after pulling himself off of AEW television and into inpatient alcohol treatment. These things are bigger than wrestling - but it's to AEW's credit that the promotion was able to find a suitable replacement on such short notice.

Miro vs. Danielson is going to rule. The former TNT Champion has spent the past few months telling a neck story, establishing it as his Achilles Heel. His opponents always have something to target. It helps him project dominance while still looking beatable, meaning that even when they lose, everybody comes out of a Miro match looking great.

Danielson, meanwhile, possesses a vast array of neck submissions and excels against monsters. That he hasn't wrestled one in AEW yet will give this match a different feel to his other high points - and likely push him further ahead in the soon-to-start Wrestler of the Year debate.

Both would be compelling opponents for a World Title program next, but Miro rampaging towards the top of the card, stomping his way to redemption, sounds incredible. As an upper-midcarder, he's also the perfect guy for a television title defence. Bryan in the title scene can wait.

Winner: Miro
