11 HUGE AEW Full Gear 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

1. Jon Moxley (c) Vs. MJF

AEW has a good habit of making their title matches feel like the biggest ever, but Jon Moxley Vs MJF will carry that tradition forward with added bile.

More than just the first pay-per-view Championship clash between the two since Moxley's cheeky retention at All Out 2020, this is also the first headline attraction on a supercard since CM Punk scorched the earth around them back in September. On that night, MJF's next chapter went up in smoke along with Jon Moxley's planned vacation, so a victory for 'The Salt Of The Earth' seems inevitable here to get both those trains back on the track.

But how?

The permutations are fascinating. In cashing in his Casino chip in advance, MJF has shown himself to be slightly more honourable than he was in the past - or at very least honourable enough that his pledge to win (mostly) clean can be trusted too. But Moxley broke a promise not to cheat in 2020 to retain, so it surely wouldn't be beyond the 'Generational Talent' to owe him one back even if the Dynamite Diamond Ring or his ex-communicated Firm don't factor in to the finish.

William Regal's involvement has added the suspenseful wrinkle to all of that. A man with brass knuckles doesn't need weaponised jewellery, not least if he's empowered by a coach whose villainous respect he once desperately craved. It'd be a plan beyond something Mox could imagine too - otherwise he probably wouldn't have reminded Regal of the beating he gave him once upon a time.

The new Champion will rise at Full Gear, but the Blackpool Combat Club may have to fall to make it so. MJF once thought he needed a stable to win that belt. Might it turn out that the trick all along was bringing one down?

Winner - MJF
