11 HUGE AEW Full Gear 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

6. Wardlow (c) Vs Powerhouse Hobbs Vs Samoa Joe

MJF William Regal
AEW

Big dumb fun on a card not overstuffed with it, this may prove shrewd as well as a good laugh.

There need be no obvious breaks in play of breathers here - Joe might be the oldest of the three, but he's proven in recent tag matches that he can offer all the energy of the hybrid warrior he used to be in hot tag scenarios. In a three way match, he can do just that without the invite from an extended hand.

Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs are potential AEW Champions in waiting that do away with any remaining preposterous notion that the company can't book, promote and present giants. And though the result here doesn't feel in any real doubt, the way they arrive at it should justify this not being a straight singles war just yet.

This will be a protection without looking like one. Wardlow beating Joe will be a measure of revenge for the TNT Champion, but leaves hot prospect Hobbs still wanting more. The ROH Television Champion has survived a million more damaging defeats than this one, and having Powerhouse Hobbs powerbombed on top of him for the finish is the sort of loss even a superhuman could justify.

Winner - Wardlow
