11 HUGE NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard Predictions You Need To Know
1. Jay White (c) Vs. Kazuchika Okada (IWGP Heavyweight Title)
Jay White has Kazuchika Okada's number.
His first shock singles victory over 'The Rainmaker' came in last year's G1 Climax, when he upset the God-tier former IWGP Heavyweight Champion on night one. Their feud would continue thereafter, leading to a grand Tokyo Dome showdown in which 'Switchblade' took another W, pinning Okada with a snap Blade Runner in one of the year's most exciting match finishes to date.
Okada might be the best wrestler on the planet, but White, up to this point, has been his kryptonite. This will change in New York City.
Although Jay's IWGP Title reign has lasted a little over 50 days at the time of writing, NJPW will likely pull the trigger at the Supercard. Okada's redemption is within his grasp. He spent much of 2018 in a hollow, broken state after losing the big gold belt, and scoring a monster victory in such a landmark event would solidify his return to the top. Besides, White has evolved into one of the business' most effective heels. It won't take long for him to recapture any heat lost in defeat.
Winner: Kazuchika Okada.
