11 Most Important Wrestlers Of The Ruthless Aggression Era
2. Mick Foley
Despite having retired from full-time wrestling in 2000, Mick Foley played an integral part in the careers of Randy Orton and Edge.
In 2003, Foley was involved in a feud with Randy Orton and lost multiple matches to him. Not only that but in one last-ditch attempt to overcome the Legend Killer, Foley brought back the Cactus Jack gimmick and had an unforgettable match with Orton at Backlash 2004.
Fast forward to 2006, and Foley was doing something similar with Edge to really elevate the Rated-R Superstar into the main event picture. The difference with this bout was the fact that Edge was more than just a victim able to survive hardcore punishment, but Foley had pushed Edge to find that place within himself to really dish out a beating.
Both men went on to become Hall of Fame contenders and flourished throughout the Ruthless Aggression Era, and that is in no small part thanks to Mrs Foley’s baby boy.
