11 Most Random Money In The Bank Ladder Match Participants In WWE History
3. Tyson Kidd
Easily the most random of the class of 2012’s World Heavyweight Championship Briefcase Money In The Bank Ladder Match, Tyson Kidd was an odd selection for this match.
This is not to say that Kidd was not talented, or worthy of a spot in MITB, because his style suited the conditions and pace of the match impeccably. However, he entered the fray with almost no momentum whatsoever, making it a far cry for fans to buy him as a viable contender for the briefcase. At least Tensai was not too far removed from a TV victory over John Cena, and Santino Marella was a tenured comedy performer who fans had long become accustomed with going above and beyond in unfamiliar situations. Tyson Kidd however, had very few defining qualities or traits viewers could sink their teeth into, outside of being trained in the famous Hart Dungeon.
In saying that, Money In The Bank has forever been a platform for hungry young superstars to produce breakout performances, and Kidd was definitely in need of one of these. Tyson tried hard to make an impact but was hardly better for the more prominent limelight, justifying his addition to this match as indeed random. It would not be until the underrated workhorse returned to NXT and later teaming with Cesaro back on the main roster, that Kidd truly began showcasing his blistering potential.
