Speaking of benefitting from a lack of roster depth, it was a genuine miracle that fans were treated to an appearance by the ‘Milan Miracle’ Santino Marella in the dangerous environment known as Money In The Bank. WWE in 2012 was certainly not in the same position roster-wise as they find themselves in today, as Marella appeared as part of 2012’s randomly assembled World Heavyweight Championship briefcase ladder match.

When considering his comedy gimmick’s limitations, it comes as no surprise that Santino’s most notable spot in the match was being too afraid to climb the ladder high enough to retrieve the prize.

It just wasn't his forte, much like the Elimination Chamber in which he memorably featured earlier in 2012. Despite this, Santino made the best of it and played his role perfectly, adding to the excitement of the match, from both a wrestling and comedic perspective. No matter what Marella was called upon to deliver in his entertaining, or nauseating run depending on your patience for WWE comedy, he always threw everything into it, mostly putting a smile on peoples faces. But needless to say, the king of the cobra was so far out of his comfort zone in this match.
