11 Most Underrated Wrestling Tag Teams That Were Short Lived

5. Two-Man Power Trip (Stone Cold & Triple H)

This was a harkening back to the days of The Mega Powers, with two of the top guys in the company teaming up to run roughshod over pretty much everyone else in the tag team division. Indeed, Stone Cold was the modern day Hulk Hogan with Triple H in the role of "the next guy," a la Macho Man Randy Savage. The Rattlesnake and The Cerebral Assassin were downright brutal together, and were able to draw some real heat from the crowds at a time when it was nearly impossible for fans to boo Stone Cold. Together, Hunter and Austin held all of the major titles (Triple H was IC Champ, Austin was WWE Champ, and they won the tag titles from Kane & Undertaker) for a brief time before one of them was sidelined by a quadricep injury (guess who!). If Triple H had stayed healthy, there's no telling just how dominant the two of them would have become, and Austin's heel turn may have even worked in the longterm.
