In interviews, Xavier Woods has spoken at length about his love for the King Of The Ring tournament and how becoming 'King' was his biggest goal as a wrestler.

Woods finally achieved that goal in 2021 when he won the KOTR tournament, defeating Finn Bálor at the eponymous PLE. For Xavier, this was his first singles accolade in WWE, coming after both his stablemates had won the WWE Championship in recent years.

Knowing how much the tournament victory meant to Woods added a little something extra to the moment when he was crowned 'King'. Unfortunately, Xavier’s reign didn’t last long, as he got injured just a couple months later, and when he returned from injury he had ditched the royal gimmick completely.
