11 Popular WWE Stars John Cena Has Tried To 'Steal' Heat From
5. Dolph Ziggler
As what CM Punk would call an Internet Darling, Dolph Ziggler has long had the support of knowledgeable fans for various reasons. His 2013 World Heavyweight Championship win on the Raw after WrestleMania XXIX remains one of the biggest fan mark-out moments in recent WWE history. Cena first attached himself to Ziggler at the end of 2012, as Ziggler was still Mr. Money in the Bank. From November into January 2013, the two squared off at least eight times in televised matches, feuding over AJ and Cenas relationship and battling for Dolphs MITB briefcase. AJ also turned on Cena and aligned with Ziggler at TLC in December 2012, which further upped the sympathy factor for Cena. Ziggler lost the feud and came out of it losing more often than winning before finally capturing the WHC. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxZuHN4Qs7U More recently, Ziggler has now seemingly aligned himself with Cena against the Authority, a major storyline that could bolster Dolphs standing. The pairing also serves to help Cena appear more sympathetic as part of a team that is fighting the chief heels rather than the typical John Cena versus the world angle WWE loves to run. The fact that Ziggler is one of the more popular superstars on the roster only helps Cena.
