NXT is supposed to be about making new young stars. However, if you look at the success stories, they are actually guys that WWE have imported from other wrestling companies. It is the old WCW trick of just signing talent rather than making them. Furthermore, a lot of those signings aren't even that young. Is Finn Balor, at age 34, really going to be the guy to carry Raw in the next decade? Nope. He's 35 next July and hasn't even made his main roster debut yet. Even Sasha Banks had a background in the indies, she could "work" before coming to WWE. It feels like every big star has just been an established wrestler from another company, the likes of Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Neville, Samoa Joe, Hideo Itami... Are WWE really developing talent in NXT, or just signing made wrestlers and telling a story of development?
