By the spring of 2011, Raw had became so formulaic that there was a heated apathy amongst not just fans but the wrestlers. It was just the same old angles and match concepts done to death. What was new, like The Miz championship run, was woeful. When fans tuned into the June 27 2011 Raw, they expected more of the same. But what they ended up getting, was one of the most talked about wrestling promos this century. In a totally unexpected move, CM Punk was allowed to cut a worked shoot promo. He was so effective, that many genuinely wondered if it was legit.
