11 Terrible Fourth Wall Breaking Wrestling Moments

3. Stephanie's Dream

Vince McMahon was laid up in a hospital bed, as he was in a coma after The Nexus beat him up. We didn’t see him for months until the night before Linda McMahon’s potential Senate campaign re-election. A hot angle was once again reduced to a joke.

We saw Vince in bed waking up to Scooby Doo actor (and WWE creative team member) Freddie Prinze Jr., telling him about the state of his company. He informed him that Linda had spent $50 million on the campaign (which was true). He also said that The Nexus was more powerful than ever (not true at the time) and that Daniel Bryan was United States Champion. This was nearly enough to kill the senior citizen.

For no real reason, Vince then acted like he had diarrhea. That was the end of the skit...or so we thought, and hoped. Stephanie woke up in bed asking an-off screen Triple H if her dad was still in a coma. He assured her that he was. Basically, a camera somehow got into Stephanie’s brain and aired that footage, which was shot the exact same way as every other backstage segment in WWE...and then another camera was set up in front of her bed for no discernible reason, and she agreed to let all of it air on Raw.

There just has to be easier ways to deliver really bad jokes on TV!

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
