Oh man, how good was American Alpha vs. The Revival? The NXT tag team division has taken something of a hit post-WrestleMania when it comes to numbers, but the chemistry between these two teams is so engaging and thrilling that it doesn't matter. This match was tag team wrestling executed perfectly, an incredible mix of the old-fashioned and the modern. It was also the match of the night.

The Revival regained the tag belts on this night, and whilst it is interesting as to what this means for both teams going forward the real money speculation is in what awaits these teams further down the line. Jason Jordan, Chad Gable, Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder could very well drive the main roster tag team division for years to come, giving tag wrestling an importance it has flirted with but not truly had for what feels like an age.

Both teams are exactly that, they are teams. Sure, you can argue that all four men could make great singles guys, but their work right now has taken everything that is great about the tag form and truly enhanced it. This match had so many fluid sequences and clever moments that it was hard not to be excited about what the future holds for World Wrestling Entertainment and tag team wrestling.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
