American Alpha may get the majority of love in NXT tag team division, but Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder have quietly become arguably the best unit in all of World Wrestling Entertainment. Their performance last night at TakeOver: The End... was arguably their best yet, something of a perfect storm of their no-nonsense old-fashioned gimmick.

The former Mechanics have shown that with the right mix of talent, chemistry and hard work, tag team wrestling can still be over under the WWE umbrella without gimmicky cereals, lucha stylings and other flashy add-ons. Dash and Dawson are pro wrestlers, not much more, but they are so good at what they do.

They are known as The Revival for a very good reason, and last night they proved that old-fashioned botty kicking will always have a place in professional wrestling.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
