Here's what's happening behind the curtain right now.

A lot of wrestling fans were bummed out when Bobby Roode announced he was retiring from active in-ring action, but he’s been smashing it as a producer behind the curtain. Cody said he’s personally enjoyed working with Bobby, and Triple H called him “a sponge”. Even when Roode was still active, Hunter “would see him picking everybody’s brain” about this, that and everything in between.

It's clear from his comments on Cody's podcast that Trips earmarked Roode as somebody who’d be perfect for learning the ropes backstage early on. Bobby's lived experience in the biz (both inside and outside WWE), along with the fact he has a good head on his shoulders in terms of maturity, has helped him bed in.

Encouraged by his progress, HHH pulled Michael Hayes aside and asked him to mentor Bobby, so WWE obviously see some big things in his future. That'll be a bit of a thrill for those who watched Roode do his thing way back in the earliest days of TNA. He's come a long, long way from Team Canada!

It's also nice to hear that Roode is doing so well post-in ring retirement. His neck issues cut a fab career short and robbed WWE of a real stalwart pro, but Bobby has been able to put his knowledge to good use when dealing with others. It should make him proud that top guys like Rhodes trust him so much as an agent already.

That's glorious.
