11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Hulk Hogan

6. That He Once Had A Monster Truck Sumo Match With The Giant In WCW

It feels stupid just typing "monster truck sumo match" even without suffering through the pain of watching it again. The Giant of course was Big Show making his WCW debut when they tried to pass off the idea that he was the son of the late Andre the Giant. He wasn't and people knew, but WCW didn't care about making sense. This took place at Halloween Havoc 1995 and as suggested by the title, they were each driving monster trucks. Hogan won the battle, but then the Giant went after him, and they brawled on the roof of Cobo Hall in Detroit and the Giant fell off the side of the building. What do monster trucks have to do with a World Title match? Absolutely nothing, and it simply didn't make sense. It also had a lot in common with a good deal of things that WCW did at the time: it was stupid. On that same night, The Giant ended up beating Hogan for the WCW Title in what they claimed was his first match. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSVX0m7KtZw
