11 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Hulk Hogan

5. The Whole Of His Awful WWF Return In 1993

Hogan was booked as the top guy in WWE from the early 1980s (his first WWE Title win was 1984) until 1992 when he was really starting to get stale. Fans had started to boo him or cheer when bad things were happening to him. In 1992, Hogan took time off from WWE due to the steroid allegations that were present and the trial that was taking place. When Hogan came back in 1993, he did so just in time for WrestleMania 9, teaming up with Brutus Beefcake against Money Inc for which Hogan showed up with a black eye, randomly. Later in the show, after Bret Hart lost the WWE Title to Yokozuna, Hogan showed up again to stand up for Hart against the evil Yokozuna as well as Mr. Fuji. Hogan ended up winning the WWE Title in under one minute. Few were fans of the booking, and you could see on Bret Hart's face that he wasn't either. There are plenty of stories out there that Hogan was told to put Hart over for the WWE Title, but that he again refused to do so. Hogan has denied it but Hart wrote about it at length in his autobiography. Hogan's WWE run ended in 1993 with a whimper and he debuted the following year in WCW. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-jPt5Ofxcxc
