11 Things You Might Have Missed From WWE Fastlane 2016

6. No Titles Changed Hands

For the first time since last July's Battleground, WWE held a Pay-Per-View event where no titles changed hands. In three bouts - Kalisto versus Alberto Del Rio, Kevin Owens versus Dolph Ziggler, and Charlotte versus Brie Bella - the champions were all victorious. While this would ordinarily be little more than a statistical curiosity, the fact that no new champions were crowned means more heading into WrestleMania. Rather than waste time on rematch clauses and rehashed feuds, the company can use the six remaining weeks between now and the show of shows to build new programs. This is especially important given the state of WWE's main event. With a decimated roster and a weak WWE World Heavyweight Championship match on tap, it's essential that this year's undercard delivers. With time to build up feuds between Charlotte and Sasha Banks, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, and hopefully Kalisto versus somebody exciting, the show will be all the stronger.
